ABOUT
MEET THE NEWS TEAM
YorNews is founded by Journalists Natasha Judge, Olivia McDonald and Maddie Jenkins. We are currently in our last semester at York St John University, studying Media Production: Journalism and we have founded YorNews as our Final Project at university.
YorNews is a hyper-local news website aimed at sharing content for local, young, York residents. Our site will bring you articles on the current latest news and events around the city, covering general news, health and sport. This site will be specialising in the news that impacts the young people of York.
Natasha is a Northern, BJTC accredited Journalist with multimedia expertise, possessing reporting and storytelling skills. She has a passion for reporting and covering a variety of different stories, especially those surrounding themes of social change, news and entertainment. Throughout her time at Independent life she has created blog posts spotlighting on independent businesses and learnt about SEO. Natasha is eager to start a career within reporting after her studies.
Olivia has developed many skills surrounding editing, filming and interviewing. She is passionate about broadcasting and wishes to further her experience within the field of journalism. Confidence is a key attribute of Olivia's and she would love to continue to grow as a Journalist, covering topics such as health and wellbeing, social justice and current affairs. She has currently been involved in writing for Mindless magazine as part of a Digital Micro-Internship.
Maddie has interests which lie within social media digital marketing, sport, fashion and motoring. She has experience with media and events management at Northumberland FA. Over the past year she has also been a photographer for York St John Men's Football Club.
